Riley Levy
Founder and CEO of The Complete Human Co.
Riley Levy embarked on an ambitious journey to transform healthcare delivery with the inception of The Complete Human Co. (TCHC) in 2023. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, TCHC was established after a year of foundational work in 2022 to offer comprehensive primary care and telehealth solutions to minimize hospital readmissions and reduce healthcare costs. His company provides medical care directly to patients' homes every day of the week, ideally supporting those recently discharged without a primary care provider or needing one.
With a robust background in managing complex operations across various care models, Riley has always prioritized improving patient outcomes and provider experiences. His extensive experience makes his venture into The Complete Human Co. a natural progression of his career, underpinned by a commitment to enhance care delivery while making it more cost-effective.
Pioneering Roles in Healthcare Management
Before founding TCHC, Riley played pivotal roles in several healthcare organizations, significantly shaping their operational strategies. As the Head of Operations at Apostrophe, he was crucial in scaling the company’s operations through the pandemic, leading to its successful merger with Hims & Hers in 2021. Apostrophe, known for its teledermatology expertise, aligns high-quality personalized skin care products with consumer needs. Meanwhile, Hims & Hers offers a broad telehealth platform providing tailored health and wellness experiences.
Riley also contributed his expertise as the Head of Operations at Phil, where he enhanced the prescription process for providers, manufacturers, and patients by making medications more accessible and affordable. His impact continued to be evident during his tenure at Nurx, a San Francisco-based company focusing on women's health. At Nurx, he facilitated easier access to birth control, STI testing, HIV prevention with PrEP, and at-home HPV screening, among other services. His leadership at Nurx saw it grow until its acquisition by Thirty Madison in 2022.
Addressing Healthcare Gaps with TCHC
Leveraging nearly a decade of experience in telehealth and healthcare operations, Riley recognized a significant gap between inpatient care and community health services. He founded TCHC to bridge this gap, ensuring continuous and comprehensive care for patients transitioning from hospital to home. TCHC innovates in discharge, chronic care management, and hospitalization prevention, collaborating closely with healthcare facilities to ensure patients receive timely and integrated care.
Patients working with TCHC can establish a relationship with a primary care physician in under a week. The company’s team manages all aspects of case management and care coordination, intervening as necessary when a patient requires surgical or specialist services. Thus, continuous care and communication with involved healthcare facilities are maintained. Additionally, TCHC employs proactive measures for early detection of potential health emergencies, effectively managing these issues in outpatient settings or coordinating directly with hospital teams when necessary.
Expanding Reach and Integrating Behavioral Health
Riley Levy's strategic vision for TCHC extends across the United States, ensuring patients can access necessary care even when relocating. TCHC’s inclusion of in-house behavioral health services underscores its comprehensive healthcare approach, addressing physical and mental health needs within its care model.
With contracts encompassing millions of covered lives through major insurers like Aetna, UnitedHealthcare, Humana, Cigna, BlueCross/Blue Shield, Optum, Oscar, and over 160 other plans, TCHC effectively helps patients navigate their insurance benefits to maximize care while minimizing out-of-pocket costs.
Achieving High Patient Satisfaction and Cost Efficiency
Under Riley’s leadership, TCHC has rapidly proven successful in redefining primary care and care coordination. It boasts an impressive Net Promoter Score of over 87, reflecting high patient satisfaction due to its efficient and responsive healthcare services. With TCHC, new patients are seen within days rather than months, and the model has demonstrated significant cost savings by preventing hospital readmissions—averaging $2,480 per patient.
